Artist’s Bio

Susan Plant is a printmaker and mixed media artist who explores abstracted interpretations of the natural world in her work. She received the Roddy Prize for Printmaking at the Concord Center For the Visual Arts’ Francis Roddy Open Competition in 2018. She has exhibited her work in multiple group shows in the Boston area, including the Bromfield Gallery in Boston, the Brickbottom Gallery in Somerville, the Cambridge Art Association, and Gallery Twist in Lexington. Raised in New York City and Connecticut, she received a B.A. in Russian Studies from Cornell University and a M.Arch. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Following a ten-year career as an architect, in 2005 she returned to her interest in creating art. She has studied studio art at the SMFA at Tufts, MassArt, Zea Mays Printmaking, Mixit Print Studio and Abrazos Press, among other organizations. She currently prints at the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown, MA, and out of her home studio in Arlington, MA.
